- Original 1975 Patent owned by FE Montgomery, who also was the inventor of this item. Created to help those with mobility & vertigo problems. Perfect for snow, ice, & mud! The tip is non-slip rubber with a durable retractable steel spike. Attached to an 18" aluminum shaft with spike control lever. To engage spike pull lever down & over to safety catch; to disengage pull over & up. The shaft is multi-hole tooled for attachment to wood crutches; shaft can be cut for wood canes or walkers. This item is also easily attached to hiking sticks & shooting braces.
